The Airjain PWC Collar provides wrap-around protection and turns the Fish Pro into a stable fishing platform.

For many Sea-Doo Fish Pro owners, the decision to install permanent collars often comes with two hesitations: the installation process (specifically drilling) and whether it will interfere with existing accessories.

Australian angler JYL Fishing TV recently put the Airjain PWC Collars to the test. His video provides one of the most honest and detailed walkthroughs we’ve seen, covering everything from unboxing to a full day on the water.

Key Findings from JYL's Field Test:
  • Safe Installation: Bolts into the fiberglass lip, not the hull's watertight core.
  • Accessory Ready: Works seamlessly with Sea-Doo original retractable dock ties.
  • Dry Ride: Significant reduction in bow spray for a drier fishing experience.
  • Rock-Solid Stability: Walking on the collar proves exceptional lateral support.

The Installation: Tackling the "Drilling" Anxiety

One of the most valuable parts of JYL’s video is his clear explanation of the mounting points. Many riders worry about drilling into their ski, but JYL shows exactly where the bolts go—without compromising the hull.

Bolts secure into the overlapping fiberglass lip, keeping the hull fully watertight.
"It's not going to go in the actual hull itself... just under the ski, you have a bit of a groove... the overlapping fiberglass area that protrudes."

Integration with Sea-Doo Dock Ties

JYL had pre-installed Sea-Doo original retractable dock ties and didn’t want to lose that convenience. Instead of removing them, he found a clever way to install the collars around them.

The collars integrate perfectly with existing dock ties—no functionality lost.
"I don't have to carry around the bumpers... basically, this replaces that. So that's one less cargo on my jet ski."

The Wet Test: Stability and Spray Deflection

On the water, the benefits were immediate. JYL walked along the collar to test stability—it performed flawlessly.

Full-day testing showed dramatically improved stability and reduced spray.

The biggest improvement for the Fish Pro was spray deflection. In choppy conditions, the collars redirected water sideways, keeping the rider much drier.

"I think it definitely creates less splashes... there's substantially less [on me]... it's splashing all the water sideways. Which is fantastic."

The Airjain collars deliver not just collision protection, but a drier, more stable platform for serious anglers.

Need proof for rougher waters?
While JYL focused on fishing stability, world traveler Kevin Neubeck pushed these stabilizers to the limit in 200km daily rides. See his Brutal "Black Sea" Torture Test here.
